Vascon launches maiden IT SEZ in Ahmedabad Construction major Vascon Engineers Ltd is setting up a 1.5 million sq.ft. IT/ITES SEZ at Sanathal village, off S.G.Road. The project, named Vtech ITZ, comprises 26 acres of notified IT/ITES SEZ and will include sufficient hospitality and shopping facilities to cater to the immediate needs of the occupants. It is expected to be completed in three years with the first phase slated to be ready by May 2009.

Announcing the launch, Mr R Vasudevan, Managing Director of Vascon, revealed this was the company’s first venture in western India outside Maharashtra. “We are very excited about this project given its location, excellent connectivity and the very positive attitude shown by the authorities. We are confident of giving Ahmedabad the kind of cutting-edge IT infrastructure it deserves. The project involves an investment of Rs 250 crore.” Mr Vasudevan said.

The SEZ is being developed by Vascon in association with Agarwal Estate Organisers of Gujarat and Pristine Properties of Pune. Vascon will be responsible for the design and development of the entire project. Each phase will offer a ready-to-use package, complete with ample parking for cars and buses. “The development will be so planned that the work on the next phase will progress smoothly without affecting the efficiency and comfort of the users of the ready phase,” Mr C V Shah, President, Vascon said.

Coimbatore will soon have its first modern multi-development residential-cum-commercial project in a 30-acre plot off Avinashi Road, at Neelambur. This will be the maiden project of a new joint venture between Pricol Property Development Limited, a group company of automotive products major Pricol Ltd, and Vascon Engineers Ltd, the Pune-based construction company with a pan-India presence. Almost 40 percent of the built-up area will be taken up by exclusive villas and premium high-rise apartments. An equal area will be devoted to facilities for IT-enabled services (ITES) and offices. The project will also have a shopping plaza, a motel-cum-club, service apartments and a Medicare centre.

Vascon Engineers Ltd will be the technical partner for the Fashion Technology Park (FTP) coming up in Mohali, Chandigarh. As technical partner, Vascon will design, develop and build the 1.6 millions sq.ft. multipurpose facility at an estimated cost of Rs. 250 crore which will be ready in 20 months In order to extend its footprint in the national capital region (NCR), Vascon is also in talks for developing multi-use townships in the region.
