It was a decision taken by R Vasudevan, Chairman of Vascon Engineers Ltd, to get into this business. Siddharth Vasudevan, Managing Director of the company carried forward the legacy. ”From a very young age, I was always keen on joining real estate and construction. It gives me immense satisfaction when I look back to all the projects that we have completed,” Siddharth reveals. He avers that there is often a lot to learn from every building and every city. For him, the most important point is to identify and acknowledge the comforts and convenience that they provide. Supported by his vision, Vascon Engineers Ltd has to its credit over 200 projects delivered with presence in more than 30 cities across India. During its remarkable journey of over three decades, the company has delivered around 50 million sq ft of spaces.
Siddharth feels that it would be very difficult to zero in on one project as a turning point since they have done many types of buildings. ”To name a few, Marigold, making Kalyani Nagar what it is today, and Vascon Weikfield IT City being the crown jewel in Viman Nagar and Suzlon One Earth, which was one of the greenest buildings on earth,
we have had a few landmark projects’’ he says. No matter what, timely delivery and high quality have always
been their top priorities. ”These are the things that have made us a reputable and preferred brand, with many of our partners coming back to us for further projects,” Siddharth points out.

Siddharth says that the key is to be hands-on yet provide enough power and accountability to the team to perform and execute novel and out-of-the-box ideas confidently. According to him, the following are their USPs. The key attributes, which unlocked the success doors for the company, include transparency, disclosure, supervision, internal control, risk management, internal and external communications, high standards of safety, accounting fidelity, product and service quality. Also, the Board of Directors of the company fully appreciates the importance of adopting high standards of corporate governance in all operations and processes setting a high benchmark. Spanning operations across eleven states, Vascon has grown from an EPC player to a real estate developer. They are the first company to come up with an MRP concept in sales in the real estate. There is also a constant endeavor to use new and unconventional ideas. Vascon set up Vascon Moorthy Foundation (VMF) with the intention of educating the labourers’ children and ensure their welfare. This also includes health check-ups and vaccinations et al to not just these children but also the economically weaker section of society. Regarding the work culture that is promoted in the company, he says that it comprises being absolutely transparent with all our stakeholders, setting high benchmarks, respecting customers and giving them more than their expectations, and empowerment to take decisions, to accept mistakes and to correct them.
Looking at future
Vascon Engineers Ltd is planning to head towards being amongst the top three real-estate developers of Pune in the near future. ”The future is really exciting, as we intend to grow both our Real Estate and EPC arms at a very good pace. We have a healthy pipeline of projects that will make Pune proud,” Siddharth informs. For him, the defining trend in real estate will be on-time delivery. ‘The key to achieving this is designing construction-friendly buildings that are sustainable and give residents an upgraded lifestyle. ”Vascon is a future-looking company and we invest time to identify future opportunities and challenges and work out ways to overcome them,” Siddharth signs off.
